Moms Mabley led an interesting life! Born in the south long ago (1894), she became a comedian who traveled and performed in the “Chiltin’ Circuit”. She later became a very successful mainstream performer. She pioneered a unique style, which later became the inspiration for several recognizable movie characters such as Grandma Klump in the Nutty Professor and the Madea character.
